OUR PROJECTS
MAARGADARSHI
Sahaya is our initial project that we implemented when we started the change we wanted to see. 'Peer mentoring and individual change' - this is our vision for this project. Under this Project, volunteers conduct tutoring sessions to few selected kids on a daily basis. In these classes, volunteers take a higher role.They play the role of a brother/sister.By doing this, we believe that we can eradicate the fear that exists between a teacher and a student. Personal change through help and love is a primary concept behind this project. As of now around nine volunteers are teaching all the science subjects every day to five kids of 11th standard.Two sessions are being conducted everyday.
AAll our projects are basically a collaboration of individual activities. We
are all students who wish to do
something to help this society within
our limits. We also welcome professionals to join us. We make sure our activities do not hinder the personal lives of our volunteers may it be studies or work. You need not come to us in order to work with us. Work will go on by itself if you have the will to do something. The success of these projects
depend on your personal initiative. All you need to do is just show some
interest to do something. s
Margadarshi is a project that is aimed on mass motivation and transformation. Under this project, some of our trained volunteers visit various schools in the slums and conduct sessions over there. The topics chosen for these sessions mainly focus on the themes of motivation, goal setting and career guidance. Ideally, we conduct three sessions for a group of students. These sessions aims at motivating the young minds to set a goal and achieve something big. Our volunteers motivate children using various techniques and inspire them to do something different. These sessions also aim at bringing the trend of informed career choice among youth, which is a very rare trend to find in our society; in all the classes.
We have also collaborated with a government higher primary school at S.G.Palya Bangalore to conduct spoken english classes for 7th standard students.The classes are being conducted twice a week.

MAITHRI
Maithri is a project that was launched at Chandapura, Bengaluru in collaboration with an orphanage. A team of our volunteers visit this orphanage every Sunday and conduct both tutoring and play sessions over there. The idea behind these visits is very simple- propagation of love. By visiting the orphanage, the volunteers propagate love among kids. This also gives an insight to the visiting volunteers on the hardships of life, faced by these kids, making him/her more mature.The volunteers also try to mould the personalities of the children to see their better self through various creative activities and also through personal mentoring using the special bond that is formed between our volunteers and the children through the course of time.

Sahara is a project that is almost similar to Maithri. This project was launched in collaboration with Sneha Jyoti orphanage, Kumbalagodu, Kengeri. Volunteers visit the orphanage every Sunday and conduct play sessions to kids of the age group of 5-12 over there. The difference between the two projects is the age group that we have chosen. By choosing the smaller age group under this project we believe that we can bring out the best in each one of them.Because of their young age and still curious minds,our ability to reach them is better. The activities conducted are planned in such a way that the kids are empowered with all the necessary soft skills by the time we end our collaboration with the orphanage. Learning is made simpler here, learning happens through play and kids learn without their knowledge. Which is our primary goal behind this project.

KANASU
Kanasu is a project that was launched at Tumkur in collaboration with a boarding school cum orphanage located at Maidala,Tumkur.Tumkur is the neighbouring district of Bengaluru.This is the first project of Lakshya at Tumkur.A team was recently formed at Tumkur which will work on this project.This project is a replica of our project 'Sahara' at Bengaluru.Our volunteers will visit the orphanage once in a week and conduct sessions to 150 kids over there on various topics keeping a motive of their over all personallity development.We reach a large group of kids under this project.
CHIGURU
Chiguru is a project that we launched in collaboration with two organisations.We collaborated with Rashtrothana Parishat and Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Social Welfare organisation,Siddapura,Bangalore.Under this scheme our volunteers tutor kids in a center that is being run under 'Samskara Shikshana' scheme of Rashtrothana Parishat.We currently have 28 kids from 1st standard till 9th standard.Our volunteers visit the tutoring center daily and teach these children.We implement our own concept of education here ensuring that these children get quality education.Apart from conducting regular classes,we also conduct spoken english and life skill classes to these children every Sunday.We conduct these classes in a nearby 'anganawadi' center in collaboration with Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Social welfare organisation.
